Q. What are your hours?
A. Morning inspections start between 8:00 – 9:30 AM, Monday through Saturday.
Afternoon inspections start between 12:30 – 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Q. How long does it take to do the inspection?
A. Condo inspections usually take 1 ½ - 2 hours. Single family detached homes and town homes usually take 2 ½ - 4 hours. Completing the written report will take two hours or so.
Q. How and when will I get my report?
A. Your report is prepared at the office, after completing the field inspection. We prefer to email reports, but it is okay to mail or fax them instead. The choice is yours.
Q. Do I have to be at the inspection?
A. It’s best for you to attend the entire inspection, although it is not mandatory.

A. Jeff Zurawski, our inspector, is:
• An Illinois State Licensed Home Inspector.
• A member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI ®).
• A member of the Great Lakes ASHI ® Chapter.
• A certified member of the International Code Council ®.
• An International Code Council ® Certified Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector.
• An Exterior Design Institute ® Certified 3 rd Party EIFS Inspector and Moisture Analyst.
• An Illinois State Licensed Radon Tester.
Suburban Building Inspections is an Illinois State Licensed Home Inspector Entity.
Q. How much does an inspection cost?
A. The fees vary and they are based on the size and the age of the home.
• Condos start at $268
• Town Homes start at $298
• Single Family Detached Homes start at $358
• Homes over 3,000 square feet start at $458
• Radon Tests start at $175

accurate quote.
Q. How and when do I pay you?
A. The fee is due at the end of the field inspection. We accept checks (payable to SBI) and cash.
Q. What is your territory?
A. The Chicagoland area including DuPage, Cook, and Will County.
